Judith A. Haines, 69, of Aledo died on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center, Aledo, IL. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo. Visitation is 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Burial will be in the Aledo cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Aledo Fire Department, Erika Kate Foundation, Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center, Aledo United Methodist Church or the Aledo American Legion Auxiliary Post 121. Judith was born February 21, 1940 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Harry C. and Sydnie E. Edwards Haines. She was a schoolteacher working four years in Virden, Illinois and many years at the Rock Falls High School. She retired in 1995. Judith was a member of the Aledo American Legion Auxiliary Post 121, Mercer County Retired Teachers Association, Women for Women, Aledo United Methodist Church, Mercer County Home Extension, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution #5-119-IL. She was a former member of the Rock Falls Teachers Association, Oak View Country Club and Women’s Golf Association. Judith enjoyed playing cards and board games with her many friends. Survivors include her brothers, Tom (Janet) Haines and Dick (Jennie) Maynard, both of Aledo; nephews, John (Jennifer) Haines, Rich (Mary), Ron (Patty), Roger (Jackie), Rob (Becky) Maynard; niece, Jane (Bill) Stropes; several great nieces and -nephews and several great-great nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, great-great niece, Erika Kate Maynard and her beloved dog, Jenie. |
