Verna L. Maynard, 73, of Aledo, died November 4, 2009 at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo. A private burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Verna Maynard memorial fund and sent to the funeral home.

Verna was born Oct. 6, 1936 in Aledo, the daughter of Clyde and Alberta Workman Maynard.

She is survived by her sisters, Margie Callahan and Shirley Chamberlin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marvin and sister, Juanita Knight.
