Josephine J. Hentges, 78, of Joy, died Monday, September 21, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center West, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, at Joy Baptist Church. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Peniel Cemetery, Joy. Memorials may be made to the Josephine Hentges Memorial Fund.

She was born October 27, 1930, in Algona, Iowa.

She married Mathias Hentges in 1952. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, fishing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Fisher of Tampa, FL., Janel Plevel and husband, Joseph of Clearwater, FL. and Sandy Grammer and husband, William of Joy; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Erickson of Algona, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Matt; two daughters, Marcy Johnson and Tina Sloan; son, Larry Hentges and one grandson, William Mowery.
