Leo "Bud" Henderson
Leo Francis “Bud” Henderson, 82, of Aledo, IL died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Rosebud Farms. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo. Visitation will be 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Mercer County VFW. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Women for Women or the Mercer County Food Pantry. Bud was born July 24, 1926 in Drury Township, the son of LeRoy and Frances Marple Henderson. He married Rose Miller on October 8, 1950 in Viola, IL. He was a World War II Veteran. He was part owner of the Quad City Downs and the owner of Henderson Ford, Henderson Machinery, Henderson Auction and Rosebud Farms. Mr. Henderson was a lifetime member of the Mercer County VFW and a member of the Aledo Masonic Lodge # 252. His favorite hobby was WORK. Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Rose; children, Cindy (Harvey) DeMarlie, Reynolds, IL, Debra (Steve) Hardy, Burlington, IA, Susan (Jeff) Justin, Davenport, IA, Leo (Teresa) Henderson, Matherville, IL and Gail Henderson, Aledo, IL; grandchildren, Steven (Debra) Hardy, Dawn (Jim) Cassiday, Teresa (Chuck)Welch, Greg (Stacie) Hickerson, Justin (Leslie) Van Winkle, Jason and Travis Van Winkle, Deidra (John) Engle and Valerie and Nick Henderson; great-grandchildren, Matthew (Blakeley) Welch, Chad and Morgan Welch, Austin Hickerson, Lauryn Van Winkle, Bradley and Alexandria Hardy, Darren and Danielle Cassiday; brothers, Ivan (Pat) Henderson, and John Henderson; sisters, Carol (Charles) Call; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and sisters, Lucille, Georgia and Marion. |
