Patricia “Pat” A. Murphy, 73, of Aledo, formerly of Rock Island died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center, Aledo, IL. There are no services. Burial will be 11 am Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Blair Chapel Cemetery, St. Charles, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center. Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo assisted the family with arrangements.

Pat was born June 15, 1935 in Hanley, Iowa, the daughter of Eljay Garfield Hathaway and Mary Jane Carvey. She married Floyd James McKinney on July 23, 1954 in Winterset, IA. He died April 22, 1971. She married Donald Dean Murphy on September 10, 1988 in Davenport, Iowa.

Pat was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, sewing and cross-stitch. She loved her family very much.

Survivors (and spouses) include her husband, Donald; daughters, Vanessa (George) Smith, Milan, Teresa (Howard) Sage, Rock Island; brother, Charles Hathaway, Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Althea Housman and Sylvia Petersen, both of Winterset, Iowa; grandchildren, Jessica, Jerry and Jason McKinney; great-grandchild, Megan Shields and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 brothers and sisters.
