Jimmie K. Holt

Jimmie K. Holt, 75, of Aledo died Friday, January 12, 2007 at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo. There will be a luncheon at the First Baptist Church, Aledo immediately following the service. There is no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Jimmie K. Holt Memorial Fund.

Mr. Holt was born March 24, 1931 in Shale City, IL, the son of Ray C. and Mary L. King Holt. He married Joan Blake in Chicago in 1952. They were divorced. He later married Mary L. Hanson in Chicago in 1972. She died in 1991.

Jimmie was self employed as a painter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Aledo and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golf, woodworking, writing poetry, church, sports - especially the Cubs and Bears, bingo and volunteering for hospice. He dearly loved gardening.

Survivors (and spouses) include his sons, Darryl J. Holt, Eau Claire, WI, Danny (Billie) Holt, Aledo, and Donald D. (Robin) Holt, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and daughter, Diane (Mike) Phillippi, Marengo, IL, brothers, Forest G. Holt, Lonnie Holt, Lannie Holt, Jacie Holt; sisters, Darlene Wisley, and Mary Jane Felters; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 4 brothers, Raymond, Paul, Ernest and Charles; sister, Barbara; and beloved daughter, Mary.
