Blanche Littrell
Blanche M. Littrell, 88, of Aledo died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Aledo Cemetery. As per her wishes there will be no visitation. Bewley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aledo is assisting the family with arrangements. Blanche was born March 11, 1919 in her home in the Eliza area, the daughter of John and Ella Barlett Diehl. She married Wayne Littrell on September 5,1943 in Aledo. He died October 22, 1976. She enjoyed traveling the world, quilting, sewing, gardening, canning, doing jig-saw puzzles, reading and spending time with her family. Blanche worked at Yonkers for several years. She was the head of the laundry department at the Mercer County Hospital until she retired in 1989. Survivors (and spouses) include her brother, Leonard (Donna Mae) Diehl, Aledo; nephews, Larry (Laura) Diehl, Aledo and Vernon (Erica) Diehl, Connecticut; nieces, Cathy (Ike) Long, and Vicky (Larry) Boyles, Aledo; two great-nephews, John Diehl and Tom Boyles, Aledo; and a sister-in-law, Martha Diehl, Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant niece and brother, Donald Diehl. |
